My, who knew we here in Ohio would suffer so much damage from Ike. Just recently I heard the explanation of what happen for those 4 long hours. WE had what was now known as the perfect storm. It seems the winds from Ike as they traveled this way met with the Jet stream over us. pulling down straight line winds.
So much damage, power outages for over a week, you all know the story of what happens when these types of wind arrive.
To make even more interesting was that our power guys were in Texas helping to restore power there, it was wonderful that neighboring states sent help. Many had to wait for poles, wires, transformers, etc. to get here also. It is strange to see your surrounding towns quiet and dark, except for that tiny oasis of power, the poor doughnut shop was slammed with people, soon running out. For the most part the towns behaved well, helping one another etc. Thanks but no thanks I really do not want to have that kind of fun with a hurricane again.
Well, Sunday we tore down our lovely shop area, we are moving into another area, much bigger with our own bathroom, a stove, sink, lots of storage, what we have now is our own contained store! How exciting is that!
I have pictures of the before, can’t wait to get it looking awesome again. This time we have a candle maker with use, I have to get my butt busy as I have a bunch of orders for things. Which means I better get busy!!
have a great day, take care, enjoy the sun on your face!
